On Guard! WMC Fencing Coaches, Teams To Host Summer Camp In Long Valley
Week-long event will be held at end of July for beginners and those who want to learn more about the sport.

Long Valley, N.J. – The West Morris Central fencing teams have proven themselves to be a force in recent years, both as teams and the individuals who form them.
Now the club is offering anyone in grades six through 12 the opportunity to learn more about the sport and competition in a first-ever summer camp.
Coaches Gladys Berardi and Sabina Orsi, along with guest coaches from local fencing clubs will host the camp from July 25 to 29, from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $50 per camper and equipment is provided. Camp will be held at West Morris Central High School.

Fencing basics including conditioning, footwork and the fundamentals of the weapons and bouting/competition will be covered. Guest coaches from local fencing clubs and current West Morris Fencing team members will be assisting during the camp. The week will culminate in a mini fencing tournament for participants where medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each weapon. Camp T-shirts are also included with your registration fee.
