FOUND! Lost Dog Rescued By Long Valley Couple
'Twinkie' went missing around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Kim Lane.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – A Long Valley family needed help finding their missing dog and looked to the community for help, and in usual Long Valley fashion, residents came through.
Twinkie, a 16-year-old mini Dachshund left her home on Kim Lane Wednesday night around 10:30, said Michele Kramer, Twinkie's owner.
Twinkie doesn’t walk well and has arthritis in her hindquarters, Kramer said. She’s also hard of hearing and is currently wearing a black and dark pink collar on and has gray fur around her mouth and nose.

By a stroke of luck, however, Twinkie was found about a half mile away from her home, Kramer said.
"Twinkie had quite a night," Kramer said. "She walked half a mile, ended up in a ravine, got tangled in a briar patch and was rescued this morning by a very caring man, and his wife lovingly took care of her all day."

Twinkie's back home now, tired but with no battle scars, Kramer said.
"I have been amazed at how many people came out to help me look for her," Kramer said.
