Hearing Set For Washington Twp. Officer Accused of DUI in Pa.
William McCarthy was also arrested in N.J. last year for driving while intoxicated and hitting several other vehicles.

LONG VALLEY, N.J.– A hearing is scheduled next month for a Washington Township officer accused of drunk driving and hitting into other cars while in Pennsylvania, NJ.com reported.
William McCarthy was arrested in June for DWI and numerous other charges, Patch previously reported.
The preliminary hearing is slated for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 in Hazelton, Pa., according to NJ.com.

NJ.com reported that shortly before 8 p.m. McCarthy was arrested at a roadblock after striking several vehicles, including two that were occupied.
Earlier in the day, he allegedly drove the wrong way down a one-way street in Tamaqua, hit a car and fled down Rt. 309, NJ.com reported.

He was charged with resisting arrest, accidents involving damage to attended vehicles, duty to give information and render aid, and reckless driving, hazeltonheadlines.com reported.
According to NJ.com, McCarty was charged in Tamaqua – which is roughly a half-hour from Hazelton –with driving in the wrong direction on a one-way roadway, accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle or property and duty to give information and render aid.
McCarthy was also arrested in Blairstown last year for driving while intoxicated and hitting several other vehicles and his license was suspended for 90 days, Patch previously reported.
