House Fire Extinguished Friday Morning In Long Valley

LONG VALLEY, NJ β€” A house fire was extinguished early Friday morning in Long Valley, first responders said.

The fire broke out on Fairmount Road around 4:45 a.m., the Fairmount Fire Company said. It was located in the attic of the home, and had extended through the roof. It was "quickly extinguished," and the roof was ventilated.

One person was checked out for smoke inhalation, the first aid squad said.

The fire closed Fairmount Road between Parker Road and Fleming Court for about an hour ahead of the Friday morning commute, police said. Firefighters left by 6 a.m.
