How Much Rain Has Fallen In Long Valley?

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia saturated several parts of Morris County over the weekend.

Rain is anticipated to continue into Monday, according to the latest forecasts. Sections of Morris County saw more than four inches of rain this weekend, preliminary National Weather Service data shows.

As of Monday morning, Long Valley got the brunt of it, with observers reporting more than 4.51 inches of rain falling over the weekend.

Randolph Township got more than 3.08 inches, and Califon Borough got more than 2.85 inches, forecasters said.

Here is the National Weather Service forecast for New Jersey for Monday:

Monday: Periods of rain, mainly before 3 p.m. High near 61. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts to between a quarter and half of an inch.

Monday night: A chance of rain, mainly before 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low of around 53. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.
