Icy Conditions Delay School Start Time In Long Valley
Frigid temperatures are expected to make surfaces very slick in the morning, the National Weather Service said.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — All Washington Township Schools will be on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule on Wednesday due to weather conditions, the district announced on Tuesday night.
"Due to the forecast of freezing road conditions this evening and out of an abundance of caution, Washington Township Schools will have a delayed opening tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, to ensure roads are safe for travel," the district said.
Temperatures are expected to drop to around 12 degrees on Tuesday night. Washington Township saw 2 inches of snow fall overnight on Monday which will cause any wet surfaces to freeze.
