Latest Coronavirus Cases, Spikes In Long Valley
Many NJ towns have had coronavirus spikes. See how we are doing locally.
LONG VALLEY, NJ – More and more New Jersey towns now rank high on New Jersey's coronavirus case and fatality list. And even with declining case rates, a number of communities that were not in the crisis's epicenter in March – or even in June, before the summer ramped up – have experienced spikes since the virus has spread to more rural, suburban and beach communities.
Over the past two months, the per-capita rates in bucolic, middle-to upper-income towns such as Deal and Paramus have become among the highest in New Jersey. The disease is virtually everywhere — 559 of New Jersey's 565 communities have it.
From July 4 though Aug. 23 Washington Township saw an 13.85 percent case increase. Over the same time period, Washington Township showed 148 cases.
