Local Business Shutters In Long Valley After 32 Years

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A family-owned shipping and mailing service in Long Valley has announced that they will be shutting down their location at the end of the week.

Packaging Plus Services, located at 224 E Mill Road, Long Valley, will officially close down on Saturday, according to an announcement from company owner John Hemmings.

Packaging Plus Services has been serving the packing, shipping, freight and cargo needs of Long Valley individuals and businesses since 1991.

In 1924, the Hemmings family founded Hemmings Express, which eventually expanded into household relocation, securing a contract with Mayflower Transit in 1970. John Hemmings Jr., the current owner and manager, has 25 years of experience in the moving and storage sector, officials said.

According to Hemmings, the property on which his family has operated businesses since 1924 has been sold.

The space will eventually be taken over by Somerset Feed & Grain, which will relocate from Bernardsville following some interior remodeling.

Despite the store closing, Hemmings said he will continue to provide printing services, with printed products either shipped to you or hand-delivered.

All other shipping needs can be met at the UPS Store in Chester, according to Hemmings.

"We have been in business for over 18 years and strive to provide the best customer service. To help you transition from your current location, John and I have worked together to help you do just that. Some of the services that we provide include printing, faxing, shredding, notary, USPS/UPS shipping, certified packing, freight shipments, passport photos, 24-hour mailbox services and much more," Maria Pollard, the owner of the Chester UPS, said.

Packaging Plus Services has been a one-stop shop for packing, shipping, freight and cargo services, as well as dozens of business products and services, for over 30 years.

"Thanks for letting us serve you for so many years," Hemmings said.
