Long Valley Community Rallies To Celebrate Life Of Slain Veterinarian
The event featured some of the doctor's favorite things, including live music, dogs, and more.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Long Valley community came out in numbers this past weekend to celebrate the life of Dr. Lauren Semanchik, a veterinarian whose life was tragically taken in August.
Semanchik worked at the Long Valley Animal Hospital when she and her boyfriend, Tyler Webb, were killed by her state trooper ex-boyfriend, Ricardo Jorge Santos. Santos turned the gun on himself after killing the couple, according to police.
Since the tragedy, the Long Valley community has come together to remember Semanchik with vigils, memorials, and more. The latest event to honor her life was a special music festival at Ort Farms.

“We are beyond grateful to everyone who joined us, supported us, and helped make this memorial possible,” a Long Valley Animal Hospital statement read. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to our volunteers, vendors, family, friends, and community who gave their time, talents, and love to honor Lauren in such a special way.”
A special candlelight vigil was held following the music performances.
