Long Valley Family Pleads for Help in Finding Lost Dog

'Blue' escaped his leash on the Columbia Trail Thursday, Oct. 29.

Blue is scared and is family is extremely worried. That’s why they’re reaching out to the Long Valley community and asking for help.

Blue is a foster dog through Eleventh Hour Rescue that got loose near the Columbia Trail around 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.

His family is worried sick and have created a Facebook page with updates and asking for assistance.

Blue is a heeler/shepherd mix and is very scared. According to the search efforts, if anyone comes in contact with Blue, they are simply asked to report the sighting and not approach the dog or he may run off again.

According to sightings, Blue has been seen both north and south of the Columbia Trail and Raritan River area, but continues to use that corridor as his main path.

Blue’s handlers have hired a professional trapper, but as of Monday morning the dog was still loose.
