Long Valley Fire Company Turns On Pink Lights For Breast Cancer Awareness
The fire company illuminated its firehouse, while the Junior Women's Club has a dining out and flamingo fundraiser.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — If drivers pass by Long Valley Fire Company No. 1 at night during the month of October, they’ll notice the fire station basking in a pink glow.
The fire company is doing so in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and proudly shared so, along with a shield with a pink ribbon - the colors in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness - in a social media post on Tuesday.

Long Valley’s Junior Women’s Club announced at the end of September, it would be running a pink ribbon fundraiser at their Racks Valley Boutique, to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
It has since added to its list of fundraising activities; and has now coordinated more that include:

Chances to book the organization’s “flamingo flock” during the month of October, with proceeds additionally to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For $25, 25 flamingos can be booked for a special occasion or 50 for $50. Contact mrspage8200@gmail.com to book them.
The Junior Women’s Club has also teamed up with Valley Restaurant and Pub on 59 East Mill Road, which has agreed to donate 10 percent of food and drink sales that night toward the Junior Women’s Club fundraiser.

Washington Township PBA 301 hosted a t-shirt fundraiser for breast cancer awareness in September, with black shirts emblazoned with a pink ribbon on the back and the flag with the “thin blue line,” with a pink line on the rear shoulder.
