'Flood Watch' In Effect For Long Valley Over Halloween Weekend: See Forecast
The Flood Watch for Long Valley stretches until 6 a.m. Halloween morning, before clouds should break, with sunshine returning.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — After a Nor’easter swept through earlier in the week and left close to four inches of rain in Long Valley, the town now face a “Flood Watch” in the upcoming Halloween weekend, the National Weather Service reports.
According to the National Weather Service’s forecast for Long Valley, the Flood Watch is in effect and expected to end at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Halloween morning.
The storm is forecast to kick in on Friday night with the potential of wind gusts that could hit 30 mph, along with up to an inch of rain possible, with temperatures dropping overnight to 49 degrees.

After the storm kicked in on Friday night with temperatures dropping overnight to 49 degrees, on Saturday, temperatures are expected to head back to 61, with light winds of no more than 10 mph and up to a quarter inch of rain in the afternoon.
On Saturday night into Sunday, temperatures are anticipated to dip to about 49, with another half-inch of rain possible into Halloween morning.

On Halloween, sunny skies may be back in time for trick-or-treating, with light winds between 5 to 10 mph and a high of 59 degrees.
As part of the Flood Watch, rain will be intermittent through Saturday in Long Valley, with flood-prone areas potentially problematic, because of rains from the previous storm. The Flood Watch from the National Weather Service recommends those living in areas susceptible to flooding “should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.”
