Long Valley Man Collapses, Dies On Columbia Trail

Police say the 47-year-old man died of natural causes.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Long Valley man died after collapsing on Columbia Trail over the weekend, Morris County Park Police Detective Paul Williams said.

The man was riding his bicycle Saturday evening in the area of Middle Valley Road when he collapsed, Williams said. The 47-year-old was found unconscious by police; he was taken to a local hospital by E.M.S., where he was pronounced dead.

Williams said the death was due to natural causes, and there were "no external contributing factors." A specific cause of death was not released.

Police will not be releasing the man's name at this time, Williams said.
