Long Valley Man Drove Illegal Taxi, Police Say

Police have been cracking down on illegal taxis over the past year.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Two people were issued summons for allegedly operating illegal taxis in Hackettstown, police said.

Michael Carinci, 31, of Mansfield, and Segundo Caceres-Ortega, 34, of Washington Twp., (Morris) were both issues summonses on Wednesday. They were both charged with operating a taxi without a license, operating a taxi without proper insurance, operating a taxi without proper identification/registration and vehicle not registered for taxi service, police said.

Police have been cracking down on illegal taxis in the town over the past year, police previously told Patch.
