Child Porn Network Administrator Sent To Prison, Morris Co. Officials Say
Authorities said the 66-year-old used a file-sharing program to share child pornography, and had more than 1,000 files in his possession.
LONG VALLEY, NJ β A Long Valley man accused of distributing child pornography over a peer-to-peer digital network has been sentenced to prison, officials said.
John Green, 66, of Washington Township had pleaded guilty in January to third-degree possession of child sexual abuse materials, after authorities said he " maintained a peer-to-peer file-sharing program that distributed" files depicting the abuse. Investigators reportedly found more than 1,000 files of child pornography on his computer.
Judge Ralph Amirata sentenced Green to eight years in prison on May 31, per the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation began when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office discovered possible child porn on a BitTorrent site in Morris County and contacted the prosecutor's office, officials said.
BitTorrent is an online peer-to-peer network where users are allowed to store, send, and receive files. Officials said the BitTorrent files depicting child sexual abuse were associated with Green's home, where he lives alone.
Officials said that further investigation revealed numerous media files stored on the BitTorrent site, each depicting the alleged sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor, which were accessible to download.
A search of Green's electronic devices turned up more suspected child porn on his computer, and officials said an initial review revealed over 1,000 items of CSAM.
