Long Valley Man Robbed, Threatened Harm On Victim: Cops

20-year-old jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – A Long Valley man was arrested and jailed after allegedly robbing a victim of hundreds of dollars in cash and threatening to hurt him, Lt. Doug Compton said.

On Dec. 23 police received a report of a robbery at a private residence on West Mill Road just after 8 p.m. The victim told police he had $220 stolen from his wallet along with being “threatened with bodily injury,” Compton said.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with two males at the location, which matched the description the victim provided, Compton said.

Cpl. Dave Marut, Officers Roger Garrison, Scott Myers, and Frank Giquinto secured the scene where multiple people were located, Compton said, and the officers were able to identify two suspects who were than detained and taken to headquarters for further investigation, Compton said.

An investigation lead to Lucas Resende allegedly admitting to committing the robbery by taking the money from the victim’s wallet and threatening the victim, Compton said.

Resende was taken to Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
