Long Valley Native and Army Vet, 26, Killed in Rt. 78 Crash
West Morris Central grad was living in Hackettstown and served in the Iraq War.

The man killed in a two-car crash Saturday morning on Route 78 in Bethlehem Township has been identified as a Long Valley native by New Jersey State Police.
Shane Corrigan, 26, currently living in Hackettstown but native to Long Valley and a West Morris Central High School graduate, was driving a Dodge Charger westbound just after 6 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and rear-ended a parked tractor-trailer, Capt. Stephen Jones said.
Corrigan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries. Police could not yet identify a cause for the crash, but said toxicology reports are pending.

The Army veteran will be buried this week, on Veteranβs Day.
Corrigan graduated Central in 2007 and joined the United States Army where he served the country during the Iraq War. He played hockey for much of his life and was an avid fan, according to his obituary.

Corrigan was a CrossFit enthusiast and recently earned his Level 1 training certificate.
Corrigan is survived by his parents, Michael and Linda, a brother, sister, and many extended family members.
A visitation is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church on Spring Lane in Long Valley, with a funeral mass to begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vet Haven North, 200 Sanatorium Road, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826.
