Long Valley residents, John and Joanne Harrington, to Receive “Making a Difference Award”
at November 4th Tri-County Scholarship Fund Awards Dinner

Mendham, NJ, September 3, 2025 – The Tri-County Scholarship Fund (TCSF) Board is proud to announce that John and Joanne Harrington of Harrington & Sons Construction will receive the Making a Difference Award at TCSF’s 44th Annual Awards Dinner on November 4, 2025, at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. This signature fundraising event supports scholarships for financially disadvantaged students in northern New Jersey, enabling them to attend safe, high-quality independent schools.
John and Joanne Harrington share more than a last name—they share a life’s work rooted in service, generosity, and community engagement. Both graduates of Bayley Ellard Catholic High School, they have dedicated decades to championing education and giving back to others.
Joanne, originally from Florham Park, NJ, earned her degree from Moravian College and taught in the Livingston School District for ten years. After moving to Long Valley to raise their two children, she continued to shape young minds as a school aide, Sunday school teacher, and Girl Scout troop leader, while also volunteering with the Long Valley Food Pantry. She remains a committed supporter of Villa Walsh Academy, her daughter’s alma mater.
