We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:

  • "I think bike safety needs to be observed by both cyclist and drivers. Drivers need to be aware and bicyclists need to obey traffic laws also."
  • "Bears!!!"
  • "Drop off and dismissal at the high school is VERY dangerous. I've called a few times asking for a police presence for traffic direction."
  • "How about people not stopping at stop signs"
  • "I agree on the cyclists, but I'd add walkers/joggers as well."
  • "The cyclists on main roads."
  • "Better signage at Parker and Old Farmers."
  • "No sidewalks in areas people walk/ride"
  • "Drivers using their mobile phones."
  • "More sidewalks, or wider roads. This is a beautiful place to live, so people want to cycle or walk, but the town was designed before cars drive this fast, so it is now dangerous to get around without being in a car."

Is there a problem that wasn’t mentioned? Share it with us in the comments below or on our Long Valley Patch Facebook page.
