Long Valley Road Repairs: The Official List Of 2016 Paving Projects

Local, county, state supplying funds for fixes in Washington Township.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – The winter of 2015-16 wasn’t terrible, but there are still plenty of roads in Washington Township that look like they’ve been through several bad seasons.

The Washington Township Committee is set to approve nearly a million dollars toward road repairs for the fiscal year, and the New Jersey Department of Transportation has granted the township $245,000 for more repairs. On top of that, the Morris County Board of Freeholders will be approving funds for more roadwork in Washington Township as well.

A bond ordinance in the amount of $849,000 will get the green light by the Washington Township Committee this week, which will be put toward the road repairs of the following streets:

  • Naughright Road from Flocktown Road to Fawnridge Drive
  • Naughright Road from Janet Drive to Flocktown Road
  • West Valley Brook Road from Samantha Lane to Turtleback Road
  • Black River Road for approximately 1,400 feet
  • Turtleback Road for approximately 525 feet from Beacon Hill Road
  • Apgar Road from Green Hills Road to Old Farmers Road
  • Beacon Hill Road for approximately 1,100 feet from Route 513

The New Jersey Department of Transportation has also granted the township $245,000 for work on Naughright Road specifically in 2016.

The county will jump into the mix, taking care of paving on Schooley’s Mountain Road in two segments, from East Springtown Road to Flocktown Road, and from Flocktown Road to Newburgh Road.

No timetable has been set for when the road work will begin, but most projects will likely be completed during the summer months.
