On Saturday, November 30th, scouts, adult leaders, Troop alumni and family members from Long Valley BSA Troop 236, participated in the annual Washington Township "Sponsor a Wreath" program. The program is the sole fundraiser for the Washington Township food pantry with all proceeds going to help township residences who are in need throughout the coming year. The volunteers hung holiday wreaths on the fences along East Mill Road and Bartley Road in support of this program. Wreaths were also hung on the fences along Schooley's Mt. Road and Newberg Road by the WMC high school Highlanders for Humanity club member.

This was Troop 236’s, 23rd consecutive year of "Sponsor a Wreath" volunteer work. The Scout spirit was evidenced by the amazing turnout of 35 volunteers on a beautiful, but brisk, Saturday morning. Special thanks to Carol & Vincent Potts for providing donuts and hot drinks for the volunteer crew and to Valley View Chapel for allowing us to use their facility as the staging area.
