Long Valley Scout Troop 236 visits Washington DC

On April 11th -13th (21) members of our Long Valley Troop 236 completed the 7.2 mile Baden-Powell hike in Washington DC. The hike starts at the FDR Memorial on a historic trail by the Smithsonian Museums, behind the Capitol, and follows the path up Pennsylvania Ave. of the Suffrage parade.
The scouts camped two nights nearby in Maryland and traveled on the Metro into DC. The troop trekked for nearly 10 hours. It was a long, tough day but the thrill and excitement of seeing many magnificent sites along the way proved worth the hard journey to everyone. It was truly a trip the scouts will remember for their lifetime.
