Long Valley Wolf Cubs Go Hunting For Genuine Maple Syrup

Youngsters learn about process of turning sap into syrup.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – A group of youngsters from Long Valley’s Pack 236, Den 5 went hunting for genuine maple syrup recently.

The group, named the Wolf Cubs, visited Cub Scout Camp Wheeler in Stanhope to learn about the process of making genuine maple syrup with help from Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stoddard.

While the tree they tapped didn’t yield any sap, the cubs still made – and devoured – a helping of pancakes before the day was through.
