The Coffee Potter, located at 24 Schooleys Mountain Road, is one of NJ's best coffee shops, according to Best of NJ.

"The Coffee Potter is on a mission to unite the Long Valley community and connect its people. They do this by first offering patrons 'great coffee, great food, and the company of their neighbors.' Patrons love the location, long beverage list, and the fact that The Coffee Potter has a drive-thru window," the website wrote.

The local coffee shop first opened its doors in early 2017, making it the only local coffee shop in town. It was initially owned by Dave and Geralyn Hickey.

The Hickeys opened the coffee house with the mission of uniting and connecting the local community.

In November 2022, the Hickeys announced that they would be departing Long Valley and relocating to Georgia to be closer to family members.

"There are obviously a number of factors that need to be considered when making such a big decision, but none is more important than the strength of the team we have built in Long Valley and the confidence we have in turning the reins of our dream over to Mike and Leah. Mike and Leah embody our vision of community," Dave and Geralyn said.

The Coffee Potter, which is regarded as a cornerstone store for many community members, serves up hot and iced coffees, Nitro cold brew on tap, and other coffee shop classic snacks, like cookies, muffins and more. The café also offers a variety of other drink options, including a hot chocolate freeze, smoothies and teas.

The coffee shop is also conveniently located next to the Columbia Trail, which provides a walking and biking path, making it the ideal pit stop on a hot summer day.

The Coffee Potter is open daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
