Long Valley's Gardeners Beautify Governor's Mansion For Holiday

The Garden Club was one of six throughout New Jersey that volunteered to decorate "Drumthwacket" for its holiday open houses.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — One of the rooms in “Drumthwacket,” the Governor's mansion, is touched with the warmth of the holiday season, thanks to the Garden Club of Long Valley.

Long Valley’s Garden Club, along with Garden Clubs from Belvidere, Keyport, Warren, West Trenton and Allentown, volunteered to add special decorative touches to the “official residence” of New Jersey’s Governor, the historical mansion in Princeton constructed in 1835.

The property is preserved by The Drumthwacket Foundation, a non-profit, non-partisan group that oversees the stately home and its grounds, according to its website, where the garden clubs received special recognition for their decorative contributions this year.

See the video below for a glimpse of the decorations the Garden Club of Long Valley provided for this year, which they called “an incredible opportunity.”
