Man Killed In January Long Valley House Fire IDed: Prosecutor

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Morris County Prosecutor's Office has identified the victim of a January house fire as Bruce McAlpine, 68.

McAlpine was killed when a fire broke out at a Pickle Road home on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the prosecutor's office confirmed on Friday. The investigation has revealed that the origin of the fire was a small room adjoining the main portion of the structure. The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature, a spokesperson said.

The home was totally destroyed, but several others were saved when firefighters responded in near-zero temperatures.
