Man Shot Dead In North Jersey Home Was Involved In Sex Assault: Prosecutor
Florida man was shot twice in the upper torso and died as a result, prosecutor said.

ALLAMUCHY TWP., N.J. – The man shot and killed in a Warren County home last month was allegedly involved in a sexual assault inside the residence, Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke announced.
New Jersey State Troopers responded to a residence on Alexander’s Road in the Panther Valley section of Allamuchy Township around 4 a.m. Saturday, March 19 in response to a “sexual assault/shooting,” Burke said.

When police arrived they found Gage Theard, 24, of Milton, Florida, shot twice in the upper torso with a 9 MM handgun, Burke said. He died as a result of his injuries.
Theard was not a resident of the home and was attending Naval Flight School in Florida.

The matter remains under investigation and no charges have been lodged against the shooter, whose identity remains undisclosed.
