Missing NJ Teen Saved From Sex Trafficking In Ohio: Cops

NEW JERSEY —A teen girl missing from New Jersey was rescued from a sex trafficker during an Ohio traffic stop, according to authorities.

The girl was rescued after an Ohio State Highway Patrol officer pulled over an adult man driving with the teen on I-80 for a driving violation, police said.

Police said the 15-year-old girl told police the 35-year-old man had forced her "to perform acts" on him. No other specifics were provided. The man was arrested and faces charges for abduction, police said. The man was not named.

Neither the man nor the girl spoke English, and a translator was called to the scene to help with communication, police told the outlets.

The girl was reported missing from Paterson, Ohio police said, and was being taken to Chicago. The N.J. Division of Child Protection and Permanency is involved.
