New Grocery Store Opens At Old A&P Site In Long Valley Area
Shop Fresh Marketplace is a local, family-owned supermarket that sells prepared foods, groceries, as well as garden and hardware supplies.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — For several years after closing for good in 2015, there were no definitive answers about the future of the old A&P space. However, a new local, family-owned supermarket has officially opened its doors in the once-closed building.
Shop Fresh Marketplace held its grand opening event on Friday, Mar. 3, at its location on 7 Naughright Road, in Hackettstown.
Locals in and around the area have been clamoring for a new supermarket since the A&P shuttered in late 2015.

The store's opening was a big achievement and was recognized by Mayor Matthew Murello, who posted about the occasion on social media.
"Looks like this will be a great market that was really needed by the people living on the mountain," Murello said.
The Shop Fresh Marketplace occupies only a portion of the former A&P space; the remainder was converted into a Retro Fitness gym in 2019.
