New Store Opens At Former A&P Location In Long Valley Area

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A longtime vacant grocery space in the Long Valley area is set for another transformation as Nature's Food Markets prepares to open at the location of the former A&P, which closed in 2015.

The site, which briefly hosted a Shop Fresh Marketplace in 2023, is now poised for its third grocery store in less than a decade.

Nature's Food Markets has announced its grand opening event, scheduled for Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration will feature live music, a special appearance by actor Stephen Baldwin, and the chance to meet 'Nature Nate.'

Attendees can also enjoy cooking demonstrations, food tastings and a variety of exciting prizes, including a PS5, a bicycle, over 100 gift baskets, and more giveaways. The store will also offer special promotions throughout the day.

Since the A&P closed in late 2015, residents in the area have been eagerly awaiting a new supermarket. Their hopes were briefly raised in the spring of 2023 when Shop Fresh Marketplace opened, only to shut down shortly thereafter.

Nature's Food Markets is a family-owned and operated grocery store dedicated to health, wellness, and community involvement since 1993. Known for offering a wide range of products, they specialize in organic, natural, vegetarian, vegan, keto and raw options, catering to a variety of dietary needs and preferences.

"For the people that have been asking for a market that’s focused on natural, organic and specialty foods, this is your place," Mayor Matthew Murello said on social media. "It has a fantastic selection of natural foods and speciality items and I encourage everyone to get on over and support this new market."

Nature's Food Markets is open during the following hours: Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
