No School Bus Crash In Roxbury, Police Say

ROXBURY, NJ — A Roxbury school bus was not involved in a crash on Tuesday, Roxbury police said Tuesday afternoon.

The police department dispelled online rumors and posts, saying the false information "caused serious issues for our police department, the County Communications Center and for the school."

"Please be careful when you are posting information about what you hear on our radio transmissions or if you hear it third party," the department said, reminding residents that the information is not always correct.

Roxbury police were referencing popular online "scanner" accounts, social media pages that track emergency radio communications and post them online. These posts reflect first responder conversations, and should not be considered a definitive account of an incident.
