Police Log: Assault And Marijuana Among Recent Complaints In Washington Township

Washington Township Police respond to report of assault at the Black Oaks Golf Club.

Washington Township Police dealt with a possible case of assault this past week.

Sept. 3

An employee assaulted a fellow associate at the Black Oaks Golf Course, according to police reports. A Washington Township Patrol officer responded to an alert about an unwanted person. When the officer arrived, he discovered that one of the workers had allegedly attacked another. The officer issued a criminal complaint of Simple Assault and arrested the individual; the individual was released pending a court date.

Sept. 8

While on routine patrol, an officer stopped a car on East Avenue. The officer found the driver was driving on a suspended license and with an active warrant out on his name. The individual was issued a motor vehicle complaint for Driving While Suspended. That driver was able to post the required bail of $500 and was released on the spot.

A Washington Township patrol officer stopped a car on Route 46 and smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the officer found a homemade marijuana smoking device. The driver was arrested and taken to the Washington Township Police Headquarters. He was issued a Criminal Complaint for Possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, in addition to the motor vehicle complaints for Maintenance of Lamps and Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. The driver was later released with a pending court appearance in Washington Township Municipal Court.

Sept. 10

A patrol officer found a drunk driver on Bartley Road at about 9 PM on Saturday night. The driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and she did not pass, so she was arrested and taken to headquarters by the patrol officer. She was also given tickets for Failure to Keep Right and DWI. That driver was later
released with a pending mandatory court appearance in Washington Township Municipal Court.

Sept. 11

A patrol officer stopped a car on Schooley's Mountain Road and found that the driver looked drunk. The driver was given some field sobriety tests and he did not pass. The driver was arrested and taken to Washington Township Headquarters. He was also given tickets for Maintenance of Lamps, Reckless Driving and DWI. The individual was later released to a responsible adult with a pending mandatory court appearance in Washington Township Municipal Court.
