Police Log: Marijuana Possession Among Recent Complaints In Washington Township

Patrol officers in Washington Township found marijuana on two drivers during evening motor vehicle stops:
Sept. 13
At 10 minutes before 11 PM last Tuesday evening, a Washington Township patrol officer stopped a car on Route 46 for an equipment violation. The officer spoke to the driver and found that he had marijuana on his person. The driver was arrested and taken to headquarters. He was given a Criminal Complaint charging him with Possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams), and a ticket, for maintenance of lamps, and then released with a mandatory court appearance in Washington Township Municipal Court.

Sept. 14
Last Wednesday evening, at just before 12 AM, a patrol officer stopped a car on Route 46 for an equipment violation. The officer detected the undeniable scent of marijuana while speaking to the driver. The driver was found to have marijuana in his possession, so he was arrested and taken to the Washington Township Police Headquarters. He was given a Criminal Complaint for Possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a ticket for Maintenance of lamps, before being later released with a pending court date in Washington Township Municipal Court.
