Police Stop Shoplifting Attempt In Long Valley
Washington Township Police caught up with two men, who one they say had taken items from Target on Route 46.
LONG VALLEY, NJ β A man is lodged in Morris Countyβs Correctional Facility after being charged with taking items from Target this past Sunday, as well as for his connection to separate significant shoplifting cases.
Responding Washington Township Police officers said they received a call this past Sunday evening from Targetβs loss prevention department about two unidentified men, who security officers in the store said theyβd recognized from other incidents there.
After police stopped the men as they started to drive away, police say their investigation found that one of the two men was being sought in shoplifting cases in other towns, involving $30,000 worth of missing items.

The man is awaiting his court appearance for the shoplifting charges, according to the Washington Township Police Departmentβs news release.
