Power Outage Hits Long Valley, Chester Monday Morning

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A fierce overnight storm Monday morning has caused a power outage in Long Valley and Chester, JCP&L says.

The power outage is stemming from the Chester substation. Currently, 1,293 homes in Long Valley are without power; 5 in Chester Borough and 60 in Chester Township are dark. Another 918 homes in Mount Olive are also without power.

The outage is also affecting West Morris Central High School, which will dismiss at 11:45 a.m.

JCP&L is en route to the substation. They are currently estimating a 1 p.m. restoration time.
