Power Outage Closes West Morris Central HS Early

The power outage is forcing the early dismissal of the high school.

CHESTER, NJ — A Monday morning power outage is forcing the early closure of West Morris Central High School, Chester Township officials said.

The high school will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. as a result of the power outage, which started around 9 a.m. West Morris Mendham High School will remain in session.

The outage is stemming from the Chester substation; currently 5 customers in Borough and 60 in the Township are without power. Another 1,293 customers in Long Valley are in the dark. Another 918 homes in Mount Olive are also without power.

JCP&L is en route to the substation. They are currently estimating a 1 p.m. restoration time.
