Racing Ducks For Bucks: LV First Aid Squad Duck Derby Returns

One 'lucky duck' will be awarded a grand prize following the fundraising event.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A beloved local event is ‘quack’ and better than ever.

In its second year, the Long Valley First Aid Squad Auxiliary will be hosting its annual Duck Derby. The event will once again feature a heated race of rubber duckies.

The derby is set for this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kohler's Pond, with a rain date on Sunday.

Hundreds of adopted rubber toys will race in Kohler’s Pond, with one ‘lucky duck’ being declared the first place winner.

The grand prize for this year’s Duck Derby is a $1,000 Visa giftcard. There will be other prizes available as well, according to organizers.

To participate in the derby, you can purchase a $10 ticket from any auxiliary member. Anyone with questions in purchasing a ticket should email lvfasaux5050@gmail.com.

Proceeds from the event will go towards gear for the Long Valley First Aid Squad, which is 100 percent made up of volunteers.
