Register For Summer Recreation Programs In Long Valley

From baseball practice to science camp- registration has begun for upcoming summer programs in Washington Township.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The weather is getting warmer, and summer is quickly approaching. In light of this, the Washington Township Recreation Department has begun accepting registration for its upcoming summer programs.

Registration officially opened this week and parents can register in person, by mail, or online.

Giving their children some structured time during summer vacation is a win-win situation for many parents. Kids have fun and learn new skills, and parents don't have to worry about finding child care.

This year, young athletes, artists, and scientists will have opportunities to have fun and meet people who share their interests.

Here are the upcoming programs:

  • Complete Player Baseball Camp: This camp runs from June 26 through June 29. Payers will be grouped according to grade and ability level. Skills will be taught based on each group's ability level. Instruction will take place at Palmer Park from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
  • Wolfpack Baseball Camp: This camp runs from July 17 through July 20 at Palmer Park. This is a great opportunity for ballplayers from ages 8-14 to advance their skills in different aspects of the game. The cost of registration is $250.00 for residents and $275 for non-residents.
  • Super Science For Kids: This camp, which runs from July 24 to July 27, from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., serves as an introduction to chemistry and physics. In addition to learning about atoms, students will have fun creating various items in class. The majority of projects will be taken home with them, along with a recipe booklet and a mini chemistry kit.
  • Lego Building, Machines and Robotic Fun: This camp will be held from July 24 to July 27, from 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., and will include projects from Lego Star Wars, City, Architecture, Marvel, and many new themes. Campers will also construct a variety of LEGO Education technic machines as well as their own projects that illustrate science concepts. At the end of the week, each camper will take home one LEGO project.

The recreation committee is still working on the full 2023 schedule, so be on the lookout for new and exciting programs that are not listed.

  • Summer Tennis Camp
  • Fashion Camp
  • PBA Fishing Derby
