Each team typically has two activities per week—one practice and a Saturday game. Early in the season, practices are the focus, with a shift toward more games as the season progresses.
According to the club, the program is designed to offer a well-rounded and enjoyable experience for all participants.

To participate in Rec, your child will need the following equipment:
- Baseball Glove
- Batting Helmet: It's recommended each player has their own. If unavailable, the head coach will have helmets for use.
- Heart-Guard: A protective chest piece worn under the uniform for safety.
- Cup: Essential for safety during games and practices.
- Baseball Bat: A bat suitable for your child's age and size. If unavailable, the head coach will have bats available.
- Cleats: Baseball cleats with rubber or plastic spikes for better traction.
- Baseball Pants
The Long Valley Baseball Club offers five age-based levels, ensuring coaching and gameplay are developmentally appropriate and fun. Parents will be notified of their child’s team placement by the end of March, with the season scheduled to begin on April 19.
Children may also have the option to "play up" to a higher level, though this decision is not made by the player or parent. While parents can request a higher placement, the final decision rests with the LVBC board.
The cost of the season may vary each year, depending on factors such as the level of play and age group.
Fees generally cover:
- The cost of uniforms, including jerseys and hats
- Fees for using town facilities, maintaining fields, and other administrative expenses
- Umpire fees for Minors and higher levels
