See Details On Long Valley’s Upcoming 4-Way Stop
Expect a larger police presence in the area once the traffic pattern change is implemented.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township Police Department has announced details regarding a new traffic pattern change at a busy Long Valley intersection.
A four-way stop pattern is coming to the intersection of Parker Road and Old Farmers Road. As it stands now, Parker road drivers have the right-of-way, but that will change soon.
The move mimics the township’s decision to put a similar traffic pattern at the intersection of Naughright and Flocktown roads over the summer.

Police say that four new stop signs will be placed on all sides of the intersection, as well as “All-Way Stop Ahead” warning signs on each approach.
The township will also add fresh pavement markings and “STOP AHEAD” messages where needed.

In addition to a higher police presence in the area, digital message boards will be placed on both directions of Parker Road, alerting drivers to the new traffic pattern to “ensure a smooth transition” once the change is implemented.
“Please remember to slow down, stop completely, and follow standard right-of-way rules at the intersection (first to arrive goes first, or yield to the right),” a police statement read. “This change is intended to make the area safer for everyone. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as drivers adjust to the new pattern.”
The traffic pattern change is expected to take place on or around Oct. 27.
