See Road Closures, Traffic Concerns After Storm Blows Through Morris

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Towns across Morris County are dealing with the aftermath of strong storms overnight, which has toppled trees and downed power lines along a number of roadways.

More than 8,000 people are still without power as of Thursday at 6:15 p.m.

Here are the local road closures that Patch has found while checking on storm damage around Morris County. Click on the links provided to see any additional information from officials.

Chatham Twp

• As of the last police update Wednesday night, Longwood Avenue was closed due to wires down near Williams, and Meyersville Road was closed near Lisa Drive due to a tree on fire.

Chatham Borough

• Memorial Park Pool has reopened after a power outage.

Chester

The following roads remain impacted as of 4 p.m., per police.

• Ironia-Mendham Road - 1 Lane passable (JCP&L on scene)
• Laurel Lane - Closed (crew on scene assessing)
• Budd Ave - Passable to cars (low hanging wires)
• Fairmount Ave - Closed (tree crew currently on scene)
• Pottersville Rd (North of Lamerson Rd) - Closed (tree/wires)

Long Valley/Washington Twp

The following roads remain closed as of 4 p.m., per police:

• Flocktown Road closed between Pheasant Drive and Schooley's Mountain Road
• Old Turnpike Road closed between Stephensburg Road and Route 57

Montville Township

As of the latest police updates Thursday morning:

• Route 202 is closed between the Route 287 South on ramp and Asa Street due to a power line in the roadway.
• River Road is closed between Knoll Road and Changebridge Road.
