Stun Gun, Weed Found Inside Driver's Car In Washington Twp.: Cops
Officer smelled marijuana inside vehicle after traffic stop, police report.
LONG VALLEY, N.J. β A Union County man traveling through Washington Township Monday was arrested for possession of marijuana and having an operational stun gun in his car, Lt. Doug Compton announced.
At 6:42 p.m., Officer Michael Thompson stopped a silver Volkswagen on East Avenue after observing broken lights on the car, Compton said.
When Thompson spoke with the driver, Taj Green, 18, of Hillside, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, Compton said. An investigation revealed Green had a metal grinder with marijuana residue and an operation stun gun, Compton said.

Green was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and maintenance of lamps.
He was released with a court appearance.
