Superintendent Resigns From West Morris Regional High School District
Michael Ben-David, who joined the district in 2015, has officially resigned and accepted a job at the K-12 Tenafly School District.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The West Morris Regional High School District will soon undergo a leadership change as Superintendent of Schools Michael Ben-David is resigning from his position.
Ben-David, who has been working within the West Morris Regional High School District since 2015, has accepted a similar position at the grades K-12 Tenafly School District, effective at the end of the school year.
The West Morris Regional High School District has yet to post a public announcement surrounding who will take over as superintendent in the coming school year.

According to the Tenafly Board of Education, Ben-David was announced as the future superintendent of schools at the beginning of March following an extensive search process.
"My decision to leave West Morris Regional has nothing to do with money, geography, politics, or BOE action/s. Sometimes the answers in life are both simple and obvious—it was just time," Ben-David wrote in a statement to Patch. "My eight years in this district have been nothing short of extraordinary. Please also know that when I leave this district, I will do so with pride–knowing that our people, programs, facilities, and finances are in great shape."

The West Morris Regional School District, with grades nine through 12 in West Morris Central and Mendham high schools, has an enrollment of approximately 2,240 students.
When asked about his greatest accomplishments within the district, Ben-David said he was"probably most proud of how the district came together during covid. We only missed one day of learning at one school – simply amazing and a testament to the commitment of our teachers, administration, families and BOE."
Ben-David began his tenure at West Morris Regional School District eight years ago with a base salary of $157,500 per year, which is determined by the state-mandated salary cap for superintendents based on district enrollment size.
