Weather Clears After Henri Churns Through Long Valley
Sunny skies are now expected through Friday following flooding, power outages and other challenges from the weather.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — After Tropical Storm Henri was downgraded to a Tropical Depression, leaving behind some sogginess on Monday, the National Weather Service predicts skies to be sunny, with spots of clouds here and there, through Friday.
The National Weather Service reported on Monday that Henri had weakened in terms of its initial impact as a tropical storm - and in some places a hurricane - to a Tropical Depression.
Before departing Long Valley, Henri left some of its wrath behind.

According to the State of New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection Water Monitoring & Standards, which has been tabulating rainfall totals, near the Musconetcong River - not far from Long Valley and Washington Township - from Saturday to late Monday, there had been 4.77 inches of rain. From Sunday to late Monday, 3.03 inches of rain accumulated. As of early Monday evening, there had been 0.01 inches of rainfall for Monday.
Nearby the Long Valley and Washington Township area by the South Branch Raritan River Upper, Water Monitoring & Standards has found that from Saturday to early Monday evening there had been 5.12 inches of rain at that location, with 3.02 inches from Sunday to early Monday evening; and .11 inches in total as of late Monday evening.

A small number of Long Valley residents were without power because of the severe weather, according to JCP&L, with power estimated for restoration on Monday at 11 p.m. Click here for more about outages and JCP&L’s restoration process.
Washington Township Police Department provided updates on its Facebook Page after the storm, where there had been downed wires.
The National Weather Service predicts that flooding could be an issue in Long Valley and Washington Township, in sections with poor drainage and by creeks and streams.
As Henri fades away, it leaves behind the possibility that there could be up to a tenth of an inch of rain before Tuesday, perhaps higher if there are thunderstorms in Long Valley.
Sunny skies are predicted to return to Long Valley for Tuesday through Friday, which can help to dry up conditions slightly, with a high of 87 degrees on Tuesday, 89 on Wednesday, 88 on Thursday and 84 on Friday.
The National Weather Service forecasts that there could be a chance of rain showers again this coming Saturday.
