Washington Township Police, Municipal Alliance Offering Active Shooter Safety Program

The event, which is open to those 18 and older, will be held at the municipal building on 7 p.m. Monday.

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J.– The township police department and Municipal Alliance are presenting a free safety program at the municipal building on Monday.

"The presentation is what to do if you are faced in an active shooter situation," Lt. Douglas Compton said. "It is appropriate action for what to do in an office environment or a shopping mall or any public place."

The 7 p.m. program is open to those 18 and older, according to Compton.

"This training will assist you with what to do if your ever faced with an active shooter situation at work
or just in your day to day life," Compton said. "Learn the options you have to help protect yourself and your family when faced with this type of critical incident."
