Quiet turnout in Washington Twp. for uncontested races.

While no local races in Washington Township were contested, it was still a very important day at the polls.

Three incumbents ran for re-election unopposed to their posts on the Washington Township Schools Board of Education, while two of Washington Township’s committeemen did the same.

Kristen Gallagher received 918 votes, followed by Michael St. Jacques with 883 and Perry Kwok with 868. There were 26 write-in votes.

Six candidates are seeking seats on the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders, with just one an incumbent. Republicans John Cesaro (incumbent), Christine Myers, and Deborah Smith are vying for three seats with three-year terms against Democrats Richard Escobar, Brendan Liam Keating, and Webster Lewin.

The trio of Republicans running for Freeholder swept the vote, and Cesaro, Myers, and Smith will take on three-year seats in 2016.
