Water Main Break In Long Valley Caused 4 Hour Outage
Anyone who experiences cloudy water following restoration, has been told to run their cold water for 10 minutes, to flush the lines.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — A water main break triggered an impact to water service on a section of Fairview Avenue on Tuesday morning, according to the township.

Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority reported on Tuesday morning about the water main break, saying it happened on Fairview Avenue and was then in the process of being repaired.

Water service, according to the Municipal Utilities Authority, is “impacted between 100-158 Fairview Avenue and Scenic Falls Road.”
Initially a six hour estimated repair time, the repair in actuality, took approximately four hours.

People impacted in the service area who may have found their water to be cloudy after it was restored, were told to flush their water lines by running their cold water for 10 minutes.
