Water Main Break Repair Completed In Long Valley

Residents in the area may need to flush water lines, if their water is cloudy, the township said.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A water main break on Friday took about eight hours to repair, according to Washington Township.

Customers in the area where it happened from 99 Fairmount Road to the intersection of West Mill Road, may need to flush water lines with cold water for 10 minutes, if water is cloudy, the Washington Township Police Department shared in an alert at 5:08 p.m., on behalf of the Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority.

The police department first alerted water customers to the issue at 9:31 a.m. on Friday.

The Municipal Utilities Authority, anticipated the break to have been repaired by 3 p.m., with the repair completed around 5 p.m.
