Weather Brings Accident, Power Outages To Long Valley: Mayor

Mayor Matt Murello's morning update following the storm reported a car accident took out a pole, causing a power outage for some residents.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The wintry weather left behind some slick spots on Long Valley’s roads, a car accident breaking a utility pole and causing an outage, the result.

Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello’s update on Friday morning following the storm reported 493 power outages among JCP&L customers in the township after the accident.

“A JCP&L crew is on site making emergency repairs. The estimated time for repairs is 1130 am today.
If your power is out, please report it to JCP&L at 1-888-544-4877 (1-888-LIGHTSS) or online,” Murello wrote.

Though the DPW has treated and cleared most roads, Murello said, there are still some icy sections; and residents need to drive cautiously.
