Website Reports West Morris Central H.S. Among New Jersey's Top 100 Public High Schools

Niche rankings placed the school within New Jersey's Top 100 public high schools and among Morris County's Top 10.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — West Morris Central High School was ranked 62nd statewide among public high schools, the fourth best public high school in Morris County and was given an A ranking, according to Niche.

The West Morris Regional High School District that the school is a part of, ranked second overall in Morris County.

The website released its 2022 best schools and district rankings on Monday for schools across the nation, in public, private and school district categories.

In a news release from the company, Niche reports it is an online platform that "connects students and families with colleges and schools."

West Morris Central High School received an overall "Niche Grade" of A, with grades compiled, calculated and analyzed from public sources, including reviews by students, parents and residents in each area.

Some metrics from its report card for West Morris Central included the following grades:
A+ - Sports
A - Academics
A- Teachers
A - College Prep
A - Health and Safety
A- - Clubs and Activities
B - Administration
B - Food
B - Resources and Facilities
B- - Diversity

West Morris Central, part of the West Morris Regional High School District, has 1,171 students among its grade 9 to 12 population, with a 13 to 1 student to teacher ratio, Niche stated. Students in the district have demonstrated a 68 percent proficiency in math and 82 percent in reading, per their test scores from the state reported on the website.

In Morris County, West Morris Central High School ranked eighth on Niche, following The Academy for Mathematics, Science & Engineering in Rockaway, Morris County School of Technology, Chatham High School, Mountain Lakes High School, Madison High School and Parsippany Hills High School.

Overall, the West Morris Regional High School District ranked second countywide, with the Mountain Lakes School District, in the number one spot. According to Niche, West Morris Regional High School District has 2,426 students, with a 13 to 1 student to teacher ratio. Test scores overall demonstrate a 67 percent proficiency in math and 83 percent in reading. The district earned grade rankings of A+ in the categories of Academics, Teachers and College Prep; A in Health and Safety, as well as Sports; A- in Clubs and Activities; B+ rankings in Food and Resources, as well as Facilities; B in Administration; and a C- in the Diversity category.

Ranking 62nd in New Jersey among the Best Public High Schools category, New Jersey's Top 5 in that category include: High Technology High School in Lincroft, Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, Biotechnology High School in Freehold, Marine Academy of Technology in Manahawkin and The Academy for Mathematics, Science & Engineering in Rockaway.
High Technology High School and Bergen County Academy ranked eighth and ninth nationwide, among Best Public High Schools in America.
